Secure Wordpress - Am I Scaring You Yet?

Last year and a half educated us that WordPress security should not be taken lightly by any means. Between 15% and 20% of the world's high traffic websites are powered by WordPress. The fact that it is an Open Source platform and everyone has access to its Source Code makes it a prey for hackers.



There is a portion of config-sample.php that's headed'Authentication Unique Keys.' You will find four explanations that appear within the block. Install the WordPress Firewall Plugin. This plugin investigates web requests with WordPress-specific heuristics that are easy to identify and prevent attacks that are most obvious.

However, I recommend that you install the Login LockDown special info plugin instead of any.htaccess controls. From being allowed after three unsuccessful login attempts from a specific IP address for one hour login requests will stop. If you do that, you may access your admin panel while away from your office, and yet you still have protection against hackers.
